Jennifer Sabol, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Jennifer Sabol, M.D., F.A.C.S. is a breast surgeon who directs the newly developed Breast Care Center at Lankenau Hospital in Wynnewood, Pa. Among her many interests, Dr. Sabol spearheads several research initiatives to advance the care for women with breast cancer and improve methods of breast cancer detection and treatment. She has appeared on CNN to discuss breast cancer-related issues and is a frequent lecturer.

Dr. Sabol's training includes an undergraduate degree with honors from Franklin and Marshall College followed by a degree in medicine from Jefferson Medical College. She then completed her surgical training at Baystate Medical Center in Massachusetts and went on to become the Seeger Fellow in Surgical Oncology of the Breast at Baylor University Medical Center. Dr. Sabol has held an appointment at Jefferson Medical College as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery for the past nine years. While she is board certified in general surgery, her practice is currently focused on the treatment of diseases of the breast.

"My involvement with breastcancer.org is really motivated by the stories I hear from my patients," she says. "Many feel they don't get to spend enough time with their physicians, don't know what questions to ask, or are afraid of being a nuisance and asking too many 'stupid' questions. I think breastcancer.org is unique in that it gives the patient a chance to interact with physicians in a non-threatening environment."
